Public

That's it. We're out.

Work was this poem:
There's someone tiny growing inside,
Whose presence now we just can't hide!
They'll come to this world in late September,
A date I hope you'll all remember.
GUESS WHO?! :)

I didn't realize it said THEY until someone pointed it out to me... lol oops. No, no twins here. But people started a "not me" list where they wrote their names down if it WASN'T them who was pregnant. I guess it helped them narrow it down a bit. It was really funny.

Telling my student was the highlight of my day! I told him first thing. It started with me telling him to come over to the room I was in because I had to talk to him about something. He double checked that it was good news. I told him yes. When he came in the room I said, "I have a secret to tell you" and he loves secrets. I told him "I'm going to have a baby in September". He started GRINNING. So cute. Then I asked him if he was excited because of course he was grinning like crazy. He told me he was processing. So he was silent for a few seconds and then tells me, "okay! I'm excited!" It was epic-ly awesome. So I mentioned to him that it meant I would be home with the baby in September and asked him if he was curious about what that meant for him. He seemed curious but didn't seem to care enough to go and chat with my boss and see if she had information for him.

At the end of the day another student was standing staring at my belly and he put his hand on his own belly. Lol, his E.A. told him but I hadn't known. It was cute. I told my student that and he told me that a few years ago he wouldn't know why that mattered. He also told me a joke:

A little girl comes home from school and says to her mom, "Mommy I learned how to make babies today." Her mom says, "How do you make babies?" The little girl says, "Change the Y to an I and add E-S"... lmao!

Facebook was this picture:

It got about 5 comments and maybe 10 likes from about 11am to 4pm. When I got home I posted my Baby Gaga update and more comments started coming. I'll go post my 9 week U/S picture tonight probably because there's still plenty of people who haven't commented.

First week back to work

I bought a few cute outfits today off our CL site for three dollars each. One 6-12 month romper and one 0-3 month 3 piece winnie the pooh set with a onesie, pants and a jacket. She threw in 3-6 month onesie as well as bonus.

Also between today and monday I bought 38 burp cloths. I will sew them into anything I can think of :)
So far I've thought of using them for:
- flat diapers
- wipes (serging some layers together into smaller squares)
- swaddles (maybe sewing a few together and putting velcro on them)

Super sore boobs today as well as crampy pains in my higher stomach and sore in the uterus area too.

Told bosses today. They were good with the news. Principal boss doesn't seem to want me to come back in September for a few weeks. But guess what? If you want the best for your students in your school, you'll bring me back, otherwise his new E.A.'s won't know his technology and that will hold him back BIG time. I think he'll come around considering my mom knows this as well as my nice boss who had that conversation practically asking me to come back in September.

Also I need to flaunt the belly otherwise they'll see me at 27 weeks and then not again... that's just not okay with me.

T minus 13 days until the ultrasound and our news goes public!

OMFG!

So today I made my grandma's shirt to wear to announce to my aunt's family in California when she goes home on Monday. Isn't it cute?

Also... I went out for dinner at the food court with DH. I dragged him into the maternity store here (Thyme maternity) and showed him some of the clothes with the fake belly underneath. I left the store with 1 black pair of mat pants, 1 brown pair of mat pants and a POSSIBLE JOB!

I'm going to drop my resume off on Monday and talk to the manager again. I guess I was memorable enough from when I visited with my mom a few weeks ago. She remembered me and DH was bs-ing about how I should just get a job there since I'm always there (3rd time in like 2 weeks) and she said that they actually are looking for someone!

Best parts ever....
- DH said I can spend everything I make on clothes there!
- Found this info on discounts online (might not be accurate cuz it's from 2008)

Thyme Maternity ( Reitmans corp) Offered 50% in thyme, and since it was maternity you got to pick another division of reitmans to have a 50% off discount in, so either Rietmans, Smart Set, Addition Elle, Pennigtons or RW. All of the other stores you didn't pick your 50% off in you got 30% off.( I think it was)

So freaking excited!

Grandma is here and random ramblings

She was out of it after coming off the plane so she didn't look at my shirt even until after she hugged me. But she said that for some reason she was hoping I would be and my aunt's family was asking her if she thought I was pregnant... weird. She was coming for a regular visit, not one I asked her to come for or anything and they all were hoping I would announce I was pregnant?

Anyways after she said that, she jumped up and down like an excited little girl. So funny!

She said the last stocking she'll make for our family will be for this baby, her first great grandchild. We all have matching stockings with santa in a chimney and a moon on the back and our names at the top. She thinks she'll be able to have it made by christmas for this baby even if she starts in september. I'm not sure that she'll want to have it made by christmas considering DH's stocking is just being made now and it's been 2 years almost (but 2 christmases married). There was a lot going on right after we got married though so it doesn't bother me. It wouldn't bother me either to have someone else make the stocking for our baby anyways...

Ooooh I was DROOOOOOLING over oshkosh's baby girl clothes at costco today! I'll dump em in dropbox off my phone and post em here as soon as they show up.. so cute! It's taking forever so you might have to come back and check later. Edit: here they are! The yellow one is carter's technically but it's so cute! They're all two piece except the carter's. They all have a onesie underneath and then the overall looking part

Top left: romper Top right: shorts
Bottom left: carter's onesie with skirt thingy in front Bottom right: overall skirt

So totally stoked to be in the 2nd trimester. I'm officially 3 months and 4 days pregnant (assuming day 1 of being pregnant, aka AF if she was regular, would have been Dec 19th).

Going to see the Hunger Games on Sunday at 4pm. I'd have loved to do a Friday night (tonight) or Thursday 12am showing but I just couldn't make DH do that when he had to work the next day. So we'll see it at 4pm with my grandma and mom and dad.

Logical?

What say you guys?

I'm "coming out" to work after my 17w1d ultrasound.
I won't be working with my student next year.
I think he deserves to know with the rest of the staff for these reasons.

I'll post on facebook that night and his mom is on my facebook. I don't know if she can keep the secret.
My friend M's little sister is in grade 7 in the same school and I don't know if she'll talk but I told M she can tell her sisters after I tell the staff.
I won't be working with him and there's nosy ladies who will be all "who's working with him next year".
The ones who will actually be working with him next year will probably find out around the same time and I don't trust them not to stop him in the hall and talk to him about them working with him next year.

So that's M's sister, the 2 staff that will work with him, his mom and numerous other staff who might tell him or talk to me when he's in earshot that have the opportunity to blab to him if I don't tell him right away.

Also, when would you tell those family members on facebook. They don't deserve to find out with the rest of the world when I post it on facebook... but at the same time, I'd love for them to just find out then because the more people that know before, the more people that can say something obvious on my subtle facebook messages.

Why do you lie to me?

A coworker blabbed to the lady (J) I job share my blind student with. J wanted to back off of the student's team next year because he's going into grade 7 and it's a hard year and she wanted to give him the transition year before high school. This coworker went to J and told her that she might want to stay with the student because I was pregnant. HOW THE FUCK IS IT HER BUSINESS?!

Then J spoke to our boss lady when she sat J down to talk about the student for next year. Boss already knew and J asked discreetly to test the waters and see if boss knew. That's okay, that's fine. So boss comes to me today and tells me I might want to be careful who I tell. I was confused and then she told me that that lady had blabbed to J. I was almost in tears.

So I confronted the coworker as non confrontational as I could. Asking her "did you tell J?" and she said no. So I told her what boss had told me and asked if maybe she overheard her talking to someone. So she says that maybe J overheard her and I talking.

After school I talk to J and apologized because I should have been the one to tell her, not the other lady. I asked J a couple questions and J tells me that no, she didn't overhear, she TOLD her. I double checked that it wasn't a "GUESS WHAT?" type of thing and it wasn't but when I heard the real story, it wasn't much better honestly.

It WASN'T her business. My mom is a boss too. If she was that concerned about our student she could ask my mom what was going on. But NO, she had to go and stress J out and pull this shit on her.

Poor J is stressed to the max. When her stress levels go down a bit, I'll confront coworker who told. I just don't want coworker to stress J out more at this moment. So as far as work is concerned (mostly that coworker actually), I'm not talking about the baby. I'm not sure what I'll say, but thankfully there's one week left (plus half day friday for me) and then it's spring break for two weeks. After that, I'll be out to the admin (principal plus the boss that I had problems with last year) and soon after I'll be out to the whole staff.

This coworker was my friend. I need to confront her to save our friendship, if that's even possible at this time. I'm not sure I can trust her again after she LIED to me.

Edit as of Apr 20: I confronted her last week and all is good now. She told the truth and we talked and now I don't even think about it anymore when I see her.

Too many people

DH had to tell MIL yesterday because his grandma was going in for surgery and he wanted to make sure she had something to fight for. She's okay now, out of surgery, out of the ICU and on the cardiac floor. She was having irregular heart rhythms and such.

But, I'm really irritated. He told MIL and told her not to tell. She told SIL. We had only told my parents and he told one work guy and I told 1 (and one guessed). Last time we were PG, she blurted to SIL as soon as we told her, like yelled across the house. Our news to tell.... His aunt knows too, but that's because she was in the room when he told his grandma and mom.

But then because SIL heard it from MIL, she was upset that he didn't tell her. So DH, like an idiot, promises (at SIL's request) to tell earlier next time... Yeah, not going to happen. I understand with everything going on with his grandma he didn't want to bring up drama that would upset her but he should never have promised. He tried to explain that the reason he didn't tell was because it was really hard to untell when we miscarried last time. It seemed like she didn't get it.

So I now am going to make sure that they are aware that it is our news to share when we want to. Because they found out before I was ready to tell, I told DH that I will not be on the phone with anyone about this pregnancy until I'm ready. I will not become a walking talking incubator yet. I am still Allyssa, not just a pregnant person. If things get heated, I'm gonna be telling them something along these lines:

It's an intimate action between DH and I that caused the baby.
The baby is IN my body.
The baby will be coming out through MY vagina.

Why should anyone feel like they should know anything before we're ready.

On a side note, I'm really not looking forward to telling work. As soon as I do, I'm opening myself up to the stupid "how are you FEELING" small talk. I hate small talk as it is, this is just worse. It was like when we were wedding planning. That was all anyone could think to talk about and it got SOOOO irritating.

Telling my parents

We told my parents today.

Video gets good at about 45 seconds. Make sure you turn it up but turn it down as you get close to the end or your eardrums will be blasted by my laugh.

Guess what?!

I had two dreams last night that I tested and found out I was pregnant. I was so scared to test this morning. I was thinking.... damn the world is really cruel to me. I've never seen two lines on this test. It's gonna be negative, blah blah blah!

BUT IT WAS POSITIVE!

Josh has no idea! He's sitting across from me

As soon as he goes out I'll put this on his desktop.

This is the one I'm replacing. How long do you think it will take him to notice?

Edit: It took him about 15 minutes to notice it. He said,
"Love, you changed my ticker"
"Yeah"
"Is it true?"
"Yeah"

LOL

Edit #2: I'm still pregnant. OPK tested like a pregnancy test registered a fainter line (expected since not FMU). That's two positives. We've got two more clearblue tests to use tomorrow morning and another time. I just wanna go into the Dr. telling him, yes I've gotten two BFPs (at least) so I can prove to him that even if a urine test is negative, that they should do a blood test.

Please if you know me in real life don't mention this to anyone or even say it to me at all. I don't want to know who knows. I'll be telling family at about 12 weeks probably.
