Painting

We did MORE painting today. It was fun.... NOT. All I could think of, since it was just me and mom painting, was work. Some of the time we were talking but a lot of the time, I was alone with my thoughts and thinking about everything still makes me tear up.

Here's a *semi* before picture and an after picture:

The before walls were all brown with a darker brown on the fireplace wall. Now it's all one colour and we might repaint it soonish. Mom is undecided if she wants to paint the fireplace wall a different colour or just repaint the brick around the fireplace. The colour it is now, is kinda dirty looking.

My new word

I invented a word. It is: primer

Wait, you say, that's not a new word. Yes, yes it is. The way I use it, it is. It means to paint with primer. Also used as primering, primered.

Can you tell we painted all weekend? I have painting on the brain!

Renovations

Our renovations are almost finished. My parents are renovating their basement and turning it into a suite for us to rent from them. The drywallers took over a week to get things finished and finally we were able to paint today.

Pretty sure we spent about the equivalent of an 8 hour work day, painting. Wow... that's a lot of paint.

However, I painted two coats on our master bedroom by myself and it looks awesome. The last two times I painted, I painted my bedrooms in the two houses that we lived in, in this city. My dad helped me do that and I remember him nagging me to slow down, use more paint, use less paint, catch the drips, etc. This time, his only comments were on a few drips after the fact but there's not much I can do then.
